SATUCC & affiliates set for 105th ILC
Thursday, May 26th, 2016
SATUCC and affiliates are set to participate at the 105th International Labour Conference (ILC) which starts from 30th May to 12 June 2016.
Among the items on the agenda of the 105th ILC, is Decent Work in Global Supply Chains which arose against the background and realization that global supply chains are increasingly becoming the dominant economic practice internationally. As such, the growing importance of global supply chains affects the global and regional structure of employment, working conditions and workers’ rights.
As part of the preparations for the 105th ILC, SATUCC organised the Labor Symposium from 28 to 29 March 2016, at Oasis Motel in Gaborone, Botswana under the theme: “Trade Unions Strategies in Promoting Decent Work in Global Supply Chains”.
At this Symposium, SATUCC and affiliates also deliberated on how to strategically participate at the 105th ILC as a collective representing workers in Southern Africa.
