SATUCC newsletter has been revived!
In 2014, the Southern Africa Trade Union Co-ordination Council (SATUCC) secretariat decided to revive the issuing of the SATUCC newsletter after being defunct for almost a decade. This was informed by the Strategic Plan (2013-2018) and Information and Communication Policy adopted during the SATUCC congress in August 2013 which among others point to the need for SATUCC to increase the visibility of SATUCC in the SADC region.
This newsletter aims to highlight key issues and developments in which both SATUCC secretariat and affiliates are engaged in. Further, the newsletter will facilitate the interaction with and among affiliates, partners and stakeholders through information sharing of various aspects pertaining to employment and labour in the SADC region and beyond.
SATUCC affiliates are therefore kindly requested to forward to secretariat information on which stories can be drawn for this on-line newsletter. This information can be inform of activity reports, speeches, newspaper cuttings/clips including photos, press releases/statements.
This January to June 2015 edition of the SATUCC newsletter marks the first issue after the revival process. It reports on developments and activities from the last quarter of 2014 to the second quarter of 2015.
