SATUCC to Participate at the SADC Employment & Labour Sector (ELS) Meetings

From 26th February to 2nd March 2018, SATUCC and its affiliates will be attending the SADC Employment and Labour Sector (ELS) meetings to be held in Cape Town, South Africa.

On the last day after the technical meetings, the SADC Ministers of Labour and Social Partners will meet to to review the implementation of their decisions  taken in 2017 in Swaziland; adopt a Declaration affirming their decisions towards effective implementation of the ELS Programme of Action in accordance with the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2015-2020; Industrialization Strategy and Road Map as well as its Costed Action Plan (2015-2023); SADC Decent Work Agenda (2013-2019),

The SADC Ministers of Labour and Social Partners are also expected to make decisions on the next course of action taking into account continental and international commitments in the employment and labour sector;  discuss current labour market developments; and adopt new priority programme activities under Namibian as incoming Chair of SADC.

The SATUCC delegation to these meetings in Cape Town will be led by SATUCC President Comrade Zingiswa Losi and SATUCC Executive Secretary Comrade Austin Muneku.
